Pre-Treatment Instructions
Microneedling Treatment.

Treatment

Preparation
A medical tattoo impacts the epidermis and dermis layers of your skin. Depending on skin-type and season, you may have dry or flaky skin. To best prepare your skin prior to your appointment, make sure area to be treated is cleansed and has been gently exfoliated. (Sugar makes an excellent exfoliant as its humectant properties restore skin’s natural oils during exfoliation and draw moisture from the environment into your skin.)
Do not wear any lotions, oils, creams or perfumes after cleansing, and prior to your appointment. Staying well-hydrated on the day of treatment is recommended.
Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP):
If you desire a closely-shaven/buzz cut look, please shave your scalp prior to each appointment. Stop the use of any hair growth treatments, such as Rogaine, during treatment duration and for one month following your final treatment.
For three to five days following your tattoo treatment, you will be asked you apply a protective balm to the treated area. Recommended products include Aquaphor, Vaseline, Non-Petroleum Jelly, De La Cruz Arnica Salve, A&D Ointment, Neosporin, and Bacitracin. Please have a protective balm ready for your aftercare.
Contraindications
Medical tattoo and machine microneedling procedures are not advisable for keloid scars, active skin conditions such as psoriasis, pregnant/nursing women, persons taking blood-thinners (including prescription drugs or supplements), on steroid medication, who have a bacterial or viral infection, or persons undergoing chemotherapy or serious immune compromising medical treatments. If you are taking blood-thinners please stop them one week prior to treatment. If you are not sure, please refer to this Web MD Article: https://www.webmd.com/dvt/supplements-that-thin-blood-what-you-need-to-know
I cannot do a treatment on a skin condition or scar until it is fully healed. Depending on the severity, this can take anywhere from 3 months to a year. If a scar is still pink or red in color, it is not yet healed and is not ready for Medical Tattoo.
