About Amanda

I was first introduced to medical tattoo while working as a clinical specialist/psychotherapist in the neurosurgery department at UCLA. This included advocating for patients emotionally impacted by related trauma and surgical scars. Upon discovering medical tattoo, I was mesmerized by how effective it was in camouflaging major scars, if not eliminating their appearance altogether. Equally as impressive was the immediate resulting psychological benefit. In 2016 I experienced my own trauma scarring, which I then had treated with medical tattoo camouflage. Not long after, I began formal training. My background as a trauma therapist and in a major medical setting is an added benefit to this work; there is no question that placating visual reminders of trauma is therapeutic and significantly positive.

As a lifetime artist, I’ve trained in art anatomy, portrait drawing, live model study, color theory and Trompe l’Oeil—meaning “fool the eye,” a three-dimensional realism shading and light effect technique. An artistic understanding of aesthetic bone structure and facial/feature balance, benefits medical tattoo mapping and finessing hyper-realistic results, such as in 3D Areola creation and hyperrealism brows. I combine color theory training with the industry standard Fitzpatrick Scale for precision pigment color matching for all skin types, creating highly personalized hues necessary in achieving superior aesthetic restoration and feature enhancing treatment results.

I’ve trained in Houston and Los Angeles and hold multiple certifications, including from the worldwide community; my dedication is to achieving natural results.
